He became politically radicalized after his older brother was executed in 1887 for plotting to assassinate Czar Alexander III.

Lenin advocated for Russian defeat in World War I. Lenin plotted an overthrow of the Provisional Government. He seized power when he was aware of the vacuum plaguing Russia.
