An oscillator is an electric circuit that converts the dc supply voltage to an ac output, that can consist of a variety of waveforms, frequencies, and amplitudes. Linear electronic oscillator circuits, which makes a sinusoidal out signal, are made of an amplifier and a frequency selective element, a filter: a linear oscillator circuit which uses an RC network, a combination of resistors and capacitors, an RC network, of resistors and capacitators, an RC network, to achieve positive feedback, making it generate an oscillating sinusoidal voltage. LC or RC oscillators and filters are widely used in a host of circuits, and one of the significant elements in the capacitor.
