The Two Noble Kinsmen was probably Shakespeare's final play, although rigorous research has not been able to verify all the dates of publication with 100% accuracy. However, there is his mention, in the Prologue, of 'our loss'. In 1613 we do know that the Globe theatre tragically was burnt down, so it is highly possible that Shakespeare was referring to this event.

That would make this the last play for none was written in the last two years before his death. He wrote this tragicomedy with John Fletcher, with whom he'd collaborated before. The plot is based upon the Knight's Tale from Chaucer. Two friends fall in love with the same woman and become rivals.
