Mounts are used to hold telescopes into place. Then the person can adjust and move the telescope to focus on the faraway object. The mount is just as important to think about when purchasing a telescope. There are many different kinds of mounts. One is called the Altazimuth mount. The Altazimuth mount looks similar to a cannon when the telescope is placed on top of it.

There are two axis and the axis rotates around besides moving up and down. It also supports the telescope to hold it into place. The best thing about Altazimuth mount is that it is simple and the design is simple. These mounts are often used with telescopes that are used for research and for amateur people with telescopes.
