Galileo is a common scientist who is known for studying space and the universe among other things during ancient times. He was an astronomer and engineer from Italy. He is considered to be the “Father of modern science.” Galileo was born in 1564 and died in 1642 and he is known for using the telescope to research about the planets and space.

However, he is not the one who invented the telescope. That person was Dutch. His name was Hans Lippershey who created in 1608 a version of the telescope. Then Galileo used this new device. Many people think that Galileo invented the telescope because it was invented during the time Galileo lived which is why many people think that he invented it.
