The number of organisms living on the floor of an ocean is unknown. It is believed that over a million species of organisms live there. Over two – thirds of these species are unknown and are yet to be classified. This is mainly because of the vast size of the ocean. Scientists record that about 95% of the ocean remains unexplored. Some of the known organisms living in an ocean floor include;

Frilled shark, Giant tube worms, Pacific viperfish, Giant spider crab, Six gill shark, Fang tooth fish, Snail fish and Atlantic wolfish pair.
