One type of protocol that is used on a network is the Telnet. It uses a virtual terminal connection. There are four main layers including the link layer, internet layer, transport layer and application layer. When the message is being sent from one computer network to the destination’s computer network, it first goes to the link layer which links the information to the internet.

Then it moves by transport to the network and it is applied. There are two commands that are needed at a minimum in order to apply an ACL that will ensure that only devices that are used by the network administrators will be allowed Telnet access to the routers. These two commands are access – class 5 in and access-list 5 permit 10.7.0.0.0.0.31.
