Memory bandwidth

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Memory bandwidthis the rate at which data can be read from or stored into asemiconductor memoryby aprocessor. Memory bandwidth is usually expressed in units ofbytes/second, though this can vary for systems with natural data sizes that are not a multiple of the commonly used 8-bit bytes.

Memory operation also is clocked or is related to cycles or seconds. I thought of converting bytes to bits. Though, I remember that the throughput is in Mbps or Gbps.

Memory operations arealso related to clocking, cycles or operations per second. I somehow thought of converting bytes into smaller units, that is bits. Question is tricky.
