What should the lead paragraph of a news story contain?

The lead paragraph should contain all of the 5Ws and 1H. Are you confused with what the Ws and H are? The Five Ws are the Who, What, When, Where, and Why. These are questions that should be answered based on the details that will be placed in the lead paragraph.

Once a person who is reading the article knows all of the important details, he/she would be able to understand the supplementary paragraphs that are available. H refers to how which is also one of the important things that people would like to know when they are reading information about something or someone.
