Biodiversity is defined as all of the living things in a system, habitat or in the whole world. There are many things that affect biodiversity. The predators and prey affect biodiversity.

For example, if there are more predators than prey in an area, then the population of those animals will decrease over time. There are other ways that biodiversity could lose its members whether they are animals or plants.

However, the thing that is most likely going to happen in order for there to be a biodiversity loss is through habitat destruction. The destruction of the habitat is more likely to take place than any other factors like a balance of predators and prey. Instead, fire and humans destroy animals’ habitats all the time.

Habitat Destruction

Habitat destruction is the number one factor in biodiversity loss because the other factors contribute to it. Also, to restore a habitat to its initial state is practically impossible.
