True is the correct answer.
The aftermath of WWII led directly to the collapse of imperialism and the self-determination of former colonies.

In the aftermath of the war in 1945, many nations under the colonies decided to gain their freedom from their colonial masters.

Countries like India in Asia gained independence shortly after the war, and in Africa, Nigeria gained her independence after the world war was the most affected country.

Most countries later gained their independence between 1945 and 1960. This war led to a new formation of countries, the establishment of an international organization, political transformation, redrawing of boundaries, and many ideas were formed.

An international organization such as the United Nations was open to all nations, and as of 1970, there were over 170 members of the UN.

India was granted independence shortly after WWII from the British Empire, and numerous nations were granted self determination.
