The correct answer to this question is Salamanders. These animals have short bodies and they have short legs. When it comes to their skin, the animal has moist skin. When it comes to how long they are, the salamanders are 4 to 6 inches long.

However, some are longer and are 5 to 6 feet long. Another characteristic of salamanders are the color of them. The colors of the salamanders can vary.

Some are camouflaged, while others are bright colors. When it comes to their habitat, salamanders live in woodlands and freshwater. They do better with living in a region that has a average temperature.

Unlike frogs and toads, salamanders and newts keep their tails as adults. They differ from lizards because they spend a portion of their lives in the water. Salamanders begin their lives in the water, and they use their gills for breathing, and as they become older, they cultivate lungs and breathe air. Salamanders are mostly located in the Northern Hemisphere, and only a few are seen in the Southern Hemisphere.

Mature salamanders are about 4 to 8 inches long, and most have four short legs; however, some species only have front legs. There are four toes on each one of the front legs and five toes on each hind leg. The tail is laterally dense and often has a crest, and when salamanders grow, they shed the surface layer of skin and eat it.

Salamanders are short bodied short legged moist-skinned animals; they are generally 4 to 6 inches long, and many of these animals are camouflaged, and some are boldly patterned and brightly colored. They can also grow to be 5 to 6 feet in length. They are most commonly located in freshwater and damp Woodlands, and typically a temperate region of the northern hemisphere.

They usually undergo larvae stages which last for a period of a few days to several years. The larva has external gills and teeth in both jaws, and they also do not have eyelids. These and other larvae may become sexually mature.
