Which action will most likely have a positive impact on mission accomplishment using the EPME Structured Thinking Process (IDDP)?
SSgt Jefferson is the Bravo team leader of the vehicle dispatch section and supervises SrA Kirk, A1C James, and Amn Freeman. SSgt Jefferson and his team members have been notified of an upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. They are scheduled to support convoy missions carrying supplies to several outposts. This particular area is known to be frequently targeted by terrorist organizations. Recently a group of Airmen located the remains of a terrorist training camp in the vicinity of the convoy route. SSgt Jefferson briefs his Airmen on the task and finds that they are extremely apprehensive about performing the mission. His subordinates indicate that even though they will be driving armored vehicles while being escorted by a gunner and Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, they still fear for their safety. He thinks for a bit about their concerns and sympathizes with their apprehensions; after all, he too shares some of the same concerns as his team members. As a supervisor, he knows he must prepare his team for the assigned mission.
SSgt Jefferson expresses to his subordinates that their feelings of apprehension are normal and that these concerns will reinforce why they need to stay alert during the deployment. SSgt Jefferson schedules training to familiarize his team on how and what motivates foreign terrorist organizations.
