The average annual salary of an art historian is about $60,000. An art historian’s degree and area of expertise will determine his/ her salary. For example, an art historian with an advanced degree will be able to command a higher salary. A university professor will earn more compared to a Museum curator or an archivist.

Their salary can also be as low as $28,000 for newbie with little or no experience to over $102,830 if you have a ton of experience. The average hourly pay is about $29.30, this also depends on experience and the level of degree of a historian.
