Medicines are there to help patients. They can be used in a wide array of health conditions, ranging from a headache to cancer. The one thing that patients should be aware of before taking medication is that there are side effects that come with it.

Sometimes those side effects can be worst than the condition they are already suffering from. These effects can be mild, moderate, or severe. They can range from a headache, irritation of the skin, to more severe effects like depression or death. Before choosing medication, the patient should consult their doctor and/or research the side effects.

Side effect of medications is seen when a treatment causes problems because it work on more than the target tissue. Adverse effects are unwanted side effects. Side effects varies from person to person and are also different for medications.

Side effects can be mild, moderate or severe. Here are some common side effects: headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, skin rash and irritation. Some severe side effects include: arrhythmia, depression, suicidal thoughts, respiratory problems, bleeding and organ damage.
