There are some people who are new to these things so they do not know if they are about to make the right decision or not. A lot of people ponder on choosing decision table over an activity. There are valid reasons for doing this. The first reason is using an activity can be considered to be a guardrail violation.

If you use an activity, you can expect that some violations will come to your attention. The second reason is decision tables are just easier to use as compared to activity. Why would you choose something that is harder to control, right? The one that you know how to use will always be more ideal.

Using an activity is a guardrail violation.
Decision tables are easier to maintain than activities.
