One of the major controversies that being emo has managed to produce is that people are now talking about mental health more freely. Emo is said to be a form of self-expression but there are some who are using being emo in order to hide that they are disturbed. When people realized this, they started to talk more.

They started to become more open about their feelings and emotions. Take note that emo only started as a genre of music but it was taken to a whole new level by a lot of people who just wanted to say what is on their minds in a different manner.
