The best way to apply styles and headings to a document is to select the text you'd like to be a header and click on the style of heading you'd like. This is located in the top righthand corner on the Home tab if using Microsoft Word.

This also makes it easy to apply smaller subheadings as well as a title to your work without having to worry about changing the format back to the original.

The best way to create a heading in a document is to apply a heading style.

To do so, you need to follow these two steps:

1. Select the text which you want to use as a heading.

2. In theHometab, move the pointer over different headings in theStylesgallery and click the heading style which you want to use.

If you face difficulties to see the style that you want, you can also click the "More" button toexpand the gallery.
