In the United States and in many other countries around the world, citizens must register to vote. Even though people feel that they may not want to vote, often they do register to vote. In the United States, the people must be a citizen of the country in order to vote. Then they usually submit paperwork which can usually be done online at a government site. You have to provide proof of your residence.

In the United States and in many other countries around the world, citizens must register to vote.

This means that it shows where you live. Then you will vote within the area of your residence. If you vote outside of your residence, then you could get into trouble. Once you register to vote, a voter registration card will be sent to you. You must go to the place designated for your location to vote.
