Crepes are similar to pancakes and share the common ingredients of flour, eggs, milk, butter, and salt. The main difference is that crepes do not have any leaveners (baking powder and baking soda) so they are much thinner and flatter than pancakes. Crepes can easily be made at home. After mixing all the ingredients, melt some butter, preferably in a 12” skillet, and pour about 1/3 cup of the batter in the skillet.

Swirl the batter until it completely covers the bottom of the skillet. Cook for a couple of minutes until the bottom of the crepe turns golden brown. When this happens, loosen the edge and flip the crepe and cook about one more minute. Serve with sweet or savory toppings or fill with fruit.
