Charlie Chaplin is still remembered a century later because as Laurence Oliver said, “He was, perhaps, the greatest actor of all time.” Chaplin made many movies during his lifetime. He was not only a star in many of these movies he was also a director, screenwriter, choreographer, musician, and editor. He was a very talented man.

There were however other aspects of his life, such as his fondness for underage girls and his views on abortion that I think take away from his character and he should not be held in the high regard that he is. Yes, Chaplin was a talented man, but he was not particularly charitable or generous so I don’t see why he is still remembered.
