Fortnite, a multiplayer online shooter game released July 2017, is a huge craze amongst kids aged 8 upwards. Its full name is Fortnite: Battle Royale. With something like 63,000 kids playing it, sometimes creeping out of bed in the early hours to do so, the originators must be leaping for joy.
Developed by the company, Epic, it started as a four-player cooperative survival game set on a postapocalyptic Earth. Players had to build shelters and defend themselves against marauding zombies. Then Epic saw the massive Japanese success with their PUBG, so copied the gameplay and released Fortnite: Battle Royale as a standalone game.
