How are musicians for orchestras gathered?

Musicians are gathered for orchestras through audition process, musicians have to apply before they can become members of an orchestra. Each orchestra has a different method of selecting musicians.

Some have auditions annually and others have auditions only when they need to replace a member that is no longer part of the group. Members of the orchestras are gathered through rehearsals and concerts.
