Nishiyama Onsen Keiukan in Yamanashi, Japan is the oldest hotel in the world. According to Guinness book of records, this hotel was opened in 705AD, it has been in existence for over a thousand years. This tittle was previously held by Hoshi Ryokan Komatsu, Japan founded in 718AD.

The hotel was opened by Fujiwara Mahito who father was an aid to Emperor Tenji. It has been operated by 52 generations. This hotel has 37 rooms, surrounded by hot water springs The hotel is also surrounded by mountains, one of which is the popular Mount Fuji. It was last renovated in 1997. Nishiyama Onsen Keiukan has been visited by many celebrities, military commander and top politicians.
