I wouldn’t go so far as to say that Indian culture is obsolete. I would say that some aspects of a culture are obsolete, such as divorce and abortion being completely and totally illegal. This doesn’t happen anymore, so it’s become obsolete. However, since India is still a country and still makes the international news, the entire culture itself is not obsolete.

In fact, India is updating their culture. They might be doing it rather slowly, but it’s happening. Abortion is no longer completely illegal. Couples can get divorced instead of having to suck it up and stick with it. Younger people are able to go to college and pursue careers that might have been previously off-limits due to age, gender, etc.
