How did concept of feminism break stereotypes?

The concept of feminism broke stereotypes by bringing the issues important for women’s equality into the mainstream and helped to get laws changed. Take for example the law known as Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972.

When applied to athletics at colleges and universities that receive federal funding, this law requires equal opportunities for males and females to participate in sports, to be recruited, to receive scholarships, to be provided with equipment and supplies, locker rooms, practice facilities, and more. And of course, before women were finally successful in getting the right to vote, they were often thrown in jail just for picketing for the right to vote.
