The FCC has said in the repeal order that it lacks authority to regulate Internet providers as common carriers. FCC's Republican leadership abandoned its power to strictly regulate broadband, while simultaneously claiming that it has said the authority to prevent states from too strictly regulating broadband.

The Communications Act has no authority that would allow them the ability to levy broad standards of behavior on the Internet but grants them immense sweeping power to preempt state consumer protection laws related to the same area. The FCC has now reclassified broadband as a so-called Title II telecommunications service under the 1934 Communications Act.

Advisory organisations may often take the line that popular opinion does not matter as much as achieving a certain goal if this goal can be portrayed as in the public interest ultimately. The Federal Communications Commission is independent; an agency created by the US government to regulate the media.

No-one can broadcast without a licence from the FCC, and this is granted at the FCC;s discretion. Until 2017 there was net neutrality. The FCC sought to overturn this despite those in the industry averring that they could not have even started their work without it. Overturning net neutrality means more intrusion into people's use of the internet and less personal safety from this.

FCC stands for Federal Communications Commission. They are in charge of regulating some of the media industries which include social media. There are a lot of people who are in favor of net neutrality but this is not something that the FCC wants. They say that they do not care if people are all in for net neutrality because they know that they can solve this issue without the need for the implementation of this program.

This has made people realize that their voices do not count very much because it is still what the agency wants that will be followed. Even if the rules are still the same, people still believe that net neutrality should be implemented but the FCC will continue to not go for it just because they can.
