If you feel comfortable enough to share your secrets with your mother, go for it. Especially if it’s a secret that’s been eating at you for some time, you should share it with someone you trust. If you’re afraid your mother will tell others the secret, you could tell her something that others might already know to see if it gets around.
However, if you don’t trust your mother with your secrets, there is probably a reason for it. If you have a history of not wanting to tell her anything because it ends up being heard by people you’d rather it not be heard by, then you probably have a good reason for not telling her. Otherwise, take it slow, and give it a shot.
This is something that will depend entirely on you. Do you treat your mom like your best friend? If you answer yes, then telling your mom your secrets will not be hard to do. You can giggle about your secrets and not share them with other people.
The best part is you know that your mom cannot share the secret with your other friends. Of course, there are also some mothers that are hard to approach. Even if you want to share how your day went with them, it is just not possible for you as you are uncomfortable with one another.
