What is the difference between carbon dioxide and oxygen?

Plants breathe carbon dioxide, and we breathe oxygen. I think this is the big difference between the 2.

Carbon dioxide contains one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms while oxygen contains two oxygen atoms.
carbon atoms are used up by plants while animals breathe in oxygen.

Oxygen is the air released from the trees then mixed with the thin air and it is available in the atmosphere

carbon dioxide is the waste air exhaled by particular living organisms
