Insecurity is one of the biggest pitfalls that relationships go through. It’s very common to feel insecure in a relationship for both men and women. But, it has been observed that women have more complex insecurities than men. There are numerous reasons that make a woman feel insecure.

Women are keen observers of other women and most times, women feel insecure due to other women. And it is an absolute truth, that women dress for other women and not for their men. If any other woman looks prettier than them, they get nervous.

Bullied girls are insecure because these types of girls carry the scars of bullying, with them, throughout their life. Hence, girls tend to have a fear of getting rejected and excluded from their significant others’ lives. There is also a possibility that a woman’s ex might have cheated on them. This is also an active reason for relationship insecurities.

I do not think so, this is depending on person to person. I always have seen some of my male friends are more insecure about his relationship. I seen girls always do enjoy with his boyfriend but when the boy is saying, now we should get married then girl do not agree for this, so the boy is more insecure.

Both men and women have an instinct to feel insecure in a relation. However, women tend to do so more, because they are generally more possessive. Also, they are more observant, so small behavioral changes which may not matter to a man, become significant for the woman. Moreover, women tend to remember their experiences.

They may have a history of bullying or a possibly cheating ex which constantly pulls at her mind and makes her much more insecure than her man. However, constant assurance and love usually helps a woman overcome this fear and helps them trust their spouse, making their relation much better.

Women are more in tune with their emotions and therefore 'feel' many emotions more strongly than men in a given moment. While many women feel insecure in a reletationship, others may feel very secure. Men on the other hand are less in tune with their emotions and more likely to answer 'I don't know' when asked how they feel. Building up self-confidence for both in a relationship helps make each feel more secure. Couples who know it takes work to build up trust and can be more honest with each other tend to feel more secure than others.

In the past one source of insecurity for women was tied to money. Because men earned more money and even further back were the sole owners of property women often feared losing the relationship and ending up homeless. Widowers in the past were often shunned and had to beg for a lifestyle after their husbands could no longer provide. Thankfully this is less of an issue these days and the more progress society makes in recognizing everyone has potential to succeed and in education the more secure we all feel in and out of relationships.
