Are suits going out of fashion?

As long as the world at large in the west considers a suit to be the most professional thing a man can wear in the office, there is no way suits are going to go out of fashion.

They still have a place in the world, even if people would prefer not to wear them as often. Most men still wear them to church every week, and a good suit can project a feeling of confidence and professionalism when worn with the proper tie and shoes.

A three-piece suit, however, has gone more out of style than a suit. This is a suit that has a vest as well as the typical pants and jacket that we see as part of a suit today. A vest is considered unprofessional in most areas, but could be nice at a wedding.

I don't think 'going out of fashion' is the way to look at the function of suits. There is actually nothing that looks as professional, and for some women, more attractive, than a formal suit. Most choose to get married in one, although nowadays this is in no way essential.

There is the tendency to regard suited males as more capable, more serious, more professional and it seems likely that however many occasions casual wear is acceptable for, there will always be a secure place for suits.
