There are many times when you go to the doctor, and they will suggest or even require that you eat a specific diet. For instance, if you go to the doctor, and they conduct tests for diabetes, the results may come back that you are close to being diabetic. Instead of putting you automatically on medication, the doctor may tell you to go on the dash diet.

This will help lower your diabetes level. If a nurse is writing a nursing problem of “altered nutrition” for a client diagnosed with leukemia, their diet may be altered. The patient receives a treatment regimen of chemotherapy and radiation. Then the patient will go on this diet, whether it is at the hospital or home. The nurse will monitor the serum albumin levels.
