There are quite a few social media websites that have been forgotten already. Even if you do not like social media that much, you have to admit that we are living in a social-media influenced world. Some are highly popular like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Yet, there are also some social media websites that you have already forgotten have existed in the past. MySpace is one social media site.

It is still available but there is almost no one that you know there. Friendster is another social media website that used to be popular in the past. Hi5 is another website that started to lose the people when Facebook was introduced. Multiply tried to become a marketplace but also failed.

Everybody knows that there are a handful of social media companies who dominate and control the market these days. When the social media boom started, there were several companies who were trying to carve themselves a niche'. Some of the social media platforms that have been completely forgotten are ones such as Google Buzz and Yahoo Buzz. Both of these would allow for social sharing of pictures and articles and the such. Some of the other social media platforms that have been forgotten are hi5 and Friendster.

A lot of people do not realize that WalMart actually had a social media site. It was started by the company in order to reach out to teenagers. It would allow for users to share statuses and pictures and also upload wish lists of products that they wanted from WalMart. These forgotten sites certainly cast a light on the vast amount of social media sites that were around when they first started to become the fad that they have become.
