Does Spike survive the end of Cowboy Bebop?

The Cowboy Bebop series is one of the most popular Japanese manga and anime stories that may love. In the end of the story, there is a fight scene where Spike and Vicious are fighting. It might be easy to assume that Spike died after the battle but there is also a theory that he survived and lived.

It is because he has no significant wounds that would be fatal as he has not much blood on him and breathing heavily after the fight. He can easily survive a gunshot and that would not be the cause of his death. The director of the anime did not also confirm whether he died or not so there is a possibility that he is still alive in the ending.

Many viewers debate over the question of whether or not Spike Spiegel is alive or dead after the end of the anime cowboy bebop. An interview done with the writer of cowboy bebop is very cryptic saying that "I (the writer) never officially said that Spike died" and even states that they do not know if he survived.

But the viewers are led to believe that he did not survive based upon a few scenes which suggest so. The character Laughing Bull is having a conversation with a child in Part 2 of Jupiter Jazz and Laughing Bull says that a falling star is the tear of a warrior.
