Junk food includes donuts, French fries, desserts and other snacks that have lots of sugar or fat and are loaded with calories. It is best to stay away from junk food, but sometimes people can have them. It all depends on the quantity of junk food that is eaten. If someone eats junk food in moderation, then junk food is not that bad.

However, if someone eats junk food on a daily basis, then it is actually that bad. There are other factors that contribute to junk food being bad. These include if you are diabetic or the person is obese. Then they truly need to stay away from junk food and eat more fruits and vegetables that are prepared in a healthy way.

Junk food is high in calories, and it holds minimal nutrients. Junk food plays a significant role in the obesity epidemic in the United States. Obesity increases the risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and several other chronic conditions. Children are especially prone to eat a lot of junk food.

Eating junk food puts them at risk for developing nutritional deficiencies, which can lead to low energy and deficient performance in school. There is a lot of fat and sugar packed into small portions. Junk food can also wreak havoc on your teeth and give you cavities. However, having the occasional treat is okay in moderation.
