D is the answer to this question. It may take up to 10 years before a person realizes that he/she has HIV but it can also take much sooner. There are some people who may not even know that they have been infected and they do not know anymore who has infected them since the infection has occurred a long time ago.

There are some early signs of the condition that will let you know if you need to get yourself tested. Some of the signs of HIV may be similar to getting the flu but the fever may usually last for a long time. There are some symptoms that may become evident about two months after it was transmitted or even earlier.
