In one kilometer there are 1000 meters. Meter is smaller than a kilometer, which explains why it would take a thousand meters to make a kilometer. There are some people who may get confused with these two, but hopefully, with this new detail that you have learned, it will be easier for you to decipher which one is longer.

One meter is going to be equal to 0.0001 kilometers. There are some online calculators that will make it easier for you to compute, especially if you need to get the computation fast. To convert kilometer to meter, multiply the value of the kilometer by 1000. To get the meters in a kilometer, multiply the number by a thousand.
