What is the proper position of an inhaler without an aero chamber (a spacer)?



A. Have patient open lips and place inhaler 1 to 2 inches from mouth with opening towards back of pharynx. Lips will not touch inhaler.
B. Have patient open lips and place inhaler 1/2 to 1 inch from mouth with opening towards back of pharynx. Lips will not touch inhaler.
C. Have patient open lips and place inhaler 1 to 2 inches away from the mouth with opening toward back of pharynx. Lips will not touch inhaler.
D. Have patient exhale, then grasp mouthpiece with teeth and lips while holding inhaler with thumb at mouthpiece and fingers at the top.
