Why is AK-47 the most produced firearm in the history of weapon manufacturing?

The AK 47 is a very popular weapon for many reasons. First, the AK 47 is very easy to use. Almost anyone can pick up this weapon and know how to fire it even if they have never fired a weapon before. It is not particularly heavy either, making it exceptionally usable. It is also a fairly accurate weapon, considering the fact that it is an automatic rifle, which are not typically very accurate.
