The correct answer is option C
Sickle cell is an autosomal recessive disease. This means both the father and mother must be carriers of the gene in order to pass the disease to an offspring. For the offspring of C and D not to have sickle cell anemia the offspring must receive a normal allele from the father. This is because the mother (C) has sickle cell anemia and is sure to pass a sickle allele to the offspring. This makes option A incorrect.
