Ethical standards can be described as the rules of acceptable conduct within a society at a given time. They are never universal and always changing. Buddhist religious teachings involve an element of compassion. The basic idea at the root beliefs concerning Buddhism revolve around loving yourself and loving others.

Also, in Christianity, forgiveness plays a vital role in religion. That is what confession is all about. You can go to a priest to confess your sins, and if you are genuinely sorry, you are forgiven by God. One of the main principles of Buddhism is the belief in Karma. It is based on the notion that what you put out there into the world, you get back.
