America’s announced intention to declare Jerusalem as the Israeli capital will eventually likely change the geopolitics of the Middle East. America has been working with Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and others on issues relating to Iran and also on peace as it relates to these countries and Israel. Some experts feel America’s announcement weakens and undermines the progress being made.

Also, Russian President Putin visited Syria, Egypt, and Turkey all in one day to denounce the Jerusalem decision. In February 2017, President Trump said the US embassy in Jerusalem will open in May on the 70th anniversary of Israel declaring its independence. So it remains to be seen, perhaps sooner rather than later, exactly how the geopolitics will change.
