It is possible than China could surpass the United States in terms of economic power. Some people may argue that China has already surpassed the United States in economic power. The current presidential administration would like to make the trade rules between the United States in China more favorable to US businesses, which may slow the growth of the Chinese economy but will probably not stop it from dominating in the global market eventually.
The United States would need to enact tougher policies or make it less attractive for US businesses to do business in China in order to really stop the Chinese economy.
