Tonsillectomy is the surgery done to eliminate lymph tissues in the pharynx. Ectomy is medical terminology which means the surgical removal of an exact part of the body. Cholecystectomy is the surgical elimination of the gall bladder, which is needed by the body for the digestion and absorption of fats.

A tonsillectomy is the removal of infected tonsils. It is a standard procedure to relieve chronic infection, swelling, and pain. When the tonsils are enlarged, it can inhibit swallowing, airflow, and speech. The tonsils are meant to help keep infection at bay; however, when they become a problem instead of a help, it is time for removal.

The correct answer is option B
Tonsillectomy is the surgery done to remove lymph tissues in the pharynx.

Ectomy is a surgical terminology. The suffix means a surgical removal of a specific part of the body.

Cholecystectomy is the surgical removal of the gall bladder (a pear shaped organ that stores bile from the liver, until it is needed by the body for the digestion and absorption of fats).

Pneumonectomy is the surgical removal of all or part of a lung (an organ in the upper chest that extracts oxygen from the air).
Hope this helps.
