Meditation is a way of relaxation where a person sits in a comfortable positions where the person thinks and focuses on something in their mind. Many times, people will meditate in to have a clear mind before they start their day. Some people will shut their eyes while they are meditating and others sit in a stance. There are many methods of meditation.

However, the most common meditation pose is sitting with the legs crossed and the arms or hands resting on the knees or in a prayer pose. However, people can sit in other meditation poses in order to meditate. As long as the position that the person is sitting or lying in is comfortable, then you can meditate from that position.
