There are two types of twitch muscles. They are fast and slow twitch muscles. Fast twitch muscles are those exercises that cause the muscles to contract faster. This causes them to wear down faster as well. These muscles are thicker. When the person is exercising to their fullest potential, then they may be using their fast twitch muscles. Fast-twitch muscles can strengthen your muscles and make you stronger. At the beginning of the exercise routine, then the slow twitch muscles may be used.

After the slow-twitch muscles have finished working, then the fast-twitch muscles start working. The slow-twitch muscles increase your oxygen to the muscles as well as giving you more endurance. Both the fast and slow-twitch muscles should be used in order to complete an entire workout.
