Stuxnet is an extremely advanced computer worm that exploits multiple previously unknown Windows zero-day vulnerabilities to contaminate computers and spread. It intended to infect computers and to cause real-world physical effects. It possesses an unfathomable ability to spread its widespread infection rate. Stuxnet's worm alters PLC's programming, resulting in the centrifuges being spun too rapidly and too long, harming the delicate equipment in the process.

While this is happening, the PCL's tell the controller computer that everything is working. The false information makes it difficult to detect or diagnose what is wrong until it's too late. Stuxnet was fashioned by the intelligence agencies of the United States and Isreal. The purpose was to develop the worm.

The Stuxnet virus is a worm virus that was first discovered in the year 2010. This is considered to be one of the most sophisticated viruses to date. This was able to exploit the different weaknesses of Windows. This type of virus is known to have created a lot of damage to the nuclear program of Iran.

Based on this fact alone, you can already tell that this is no ordinary virus. The target of this type of virus is PLC which means Programmable Logic Controller. This part is the one that is in charge of the mechanical controls of different machines. This can close down control systems when it reaches its target.

Hackers and other attackers are always out in the world with the intent on damaging computers for one reason or another. Sometimes, computers are damaged in order for information to be destroyed. Others hack systems in order to gain information. Computers may be disabled because the hackers want access to the system. Over time as computers have become more powerful, hackers have produced malware that is used to damage computers. Some malware is better than others.

Stuxnet is a powerful computer malware system because of the damage it has done to cyberweapons in particular. Mainly, this malware goes against programmable logic controllers in order to dismantle parts of a system in order to make it unusable. One incident that was damaged by Stuxnet was the nuclear weaponry system in Iran.
