The United State declared its Independence from the Great Britain, adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, the 13 American colonies severed their political connections to Great Britain.

By declaring United State an independent nation, the American colonists obtained French assistance in a war against Great Britain after a confirmed official alliance with the Government of France.

Regarding taxation and frontier policy, The North American colonists found themselves highly ranked on the odds with British policies throughout the 1760s and early 1770s. After the failure of several protest from the Americans to influence the British policies which ended up in favor of nothing but the closure of Boston port and martial law declaration in Massachusetts, delegates were sent by the colonial government to a Continental Congress to coordinate a colonial boycott of British goods.
