A lot of compounds are usually composed of two elements. The compounds may do ionic or covalent bonding. Right now, you want to know which of the given compounds is an ionic compound. An ionic compound is composed of ions that may have a positive or negative charge.

Those that come with opposite charge can be held together strongly within the compound. An ionic bond should have a metal and a non-metal. Based on the given compounds, the best answer is B. Bal2. Bal2 is also known as Barium Iodide. This is a type of iodide solution that is commonly used for medicinal purposes. This is a stable compound in dry places.

An ionic compound is a solid composed of oppositely charged ions. When dissolved in water, these compounds form a solution allowing electric current to be conducted.

With that said, Barium Iodide is the ionic compound in this list. This solution can be used in the lab during the preparation of other iodides.

What is an ionic compound? This is a type of compound that has ions responsible for keeping the chemical compounds together. The compound is normally neutral but there are times when the ions may become positively or negatively charged depending on what they will be exposed to. Ionic bonds happen in chemistry all the time.

The ions will have different reactions based on the other compounds they will be exposed to. For this question, the ionic compound has to be Bal2. Bal2 is also known as Barium Iodide. This water-soluble iodide can be used in preparation of the other iodides that need to be prepared in the laboratory.
