SpongeBob SquarePants Questions and Answers (Q&A)

My favorite character from renowned animated series Spongebob Squarepants is none other than Patrick Star. Although I like Spongebob too, Patrick is indeed an interesting character.

During my childhood, I used to watch this animated series very frequently and the funniest character which I found in this is Patrick, I mean, just look at his sense of humor and comic timing. He is a pink starfish who is best friends with Spongebob. Patrick’s voice is given by Bill Fagerbakke.

Apart from Patrick, I love to see Plankton the most in this series. He is a character with evil intentions who always creates problems for Spongebob. His unsuccessful attempts to steal the secret recipe of Krabby Patties urge me to watch this cartoon more and more.

Squidward is actually a popular character of the cartoon series Spongebob Square Pants. A lot of people know that Squidward lives right next door to Spongebob but his real address is 122 Conch Street, Bikini Bottom, Pacific Ocean. Squidward’s house is an Eastern Island Head which is also known as the Moai.

There are some reports stating that Squidward may be a character suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder which means that he is someone who thinks highly of himself. He feels that he is better than his neighbors namely Spongebob and Patrick even if he is not very good at playing the clarinet.

Once you hear the lines, “are you ready, kids?” you can’t help but answer, “aye, aye, captain!” and you will never realize that you are singing the whole song. Yes, that intro is from the show Spongebob Squarepants. You can see from the opening that it is a painting of a pirate with a real mouth of a person to show that he is singing.

The painting is Painty the Pirate and the original Spongebob theme song is sang by Pat Pinney and some kids. This song is loved by many that many artists cover this song in their respective channels. There was also a time when Corey Taylor, the frontman of Stone Sour and Slipknot, sang this as an encore in a concert.

The answer to the question is subjective as some people find the Spongebob show bad from the start or it is still great up to this day. But in my opinion, I like the older episodes (seasons 1-4) when Stephen Hillenburg was part of the show compared to the newer ones. The first 4 seasons have great jokes even in the smallest scenes. Aside from jokes, there are numerous quotes that people can relate to or learn from.

Maybe the Spongebob new team is adjusting when the creator and other crew members left thus resulting to lesser quality episodes. This change or decline is noticed mostly by die-hard Spongebob fans.

My favorite Spongebob episode is “Chocolates with Nuts.” This is when Spongebob accidentally receives the “Fancy Living Digest” magazine of Squidward in his mail and made Patrick and him inspired to be entrepreneurs. Patrick suggested that they should sell chocolates in their neighborhood. They bought tons of chocolate bars from the mart but they were having a hard time selling those. The first customer they asked only shouted “CHOCOLATE!” at them.

They visited other houses and decided to exaggerate a little and it made them sell their chocolates. When they lost their profits with a con-artist, their first customer who only shouted “CHOCOLATE!” at them catches up to them and bought all of their chocolates. The two then had a fancy date with their 2 customers.

Spongebob Squarepants is created by Stephen Hillenburg for Nickelodeon. He was a marine biologist thus the characters and setting of the show takes place under the sea or as we all know Bikini Bottom. Hillenburg originally named the character Spongeboy and the show Spongeboy Ahoy! But these were already trademarked so he changed it to Spongebob Squarepants that, for me, sounds more catchy and more memorable.

The show debuted on July 17, 1999, and was liked by many viewers not only in the United States but around the globe. Until now, the show is still being aired on Nickelodeon and its fame never dies down. It continues to gain more fans and be nominated in different award bodies.

The creator of Spongebob Squarepants, Stephen Hillenburg, left the show after the completion of the first Spongebob movie. Usually, television networks need an average of 60 episodes per show.At first, he wanted to focus on making the Spongebob film for he wanted to give a good quality movie to his fans. When he thought Nickelodeon will end the show, they requested to continue in creating more episodes.

He felt he had given all he had to offer and thought the show needed some new ideas. He then appointed Paul Tidbitt to produce the newer episodes. Hillenburg returned to Spongebob and continue working and producing new episodes with Tidbitt and the team.

The Krabby Patty formula may be second to Coca-Cola’s top-secret formula. Spongebob only cooks the patties and make the orders but he does not buy the ingredients or prepare them before the store opens. Mr. Krabs is the only one who knows and keeps the secret formula in a hidden vault. The Krusty Krab and the Chum Bucket, which Plankton owns, are the only 2 burger joints in Bikini Bottom.

Plankton can’t keep up with the competition thus he wants to steal the formula. It may be a secret to everyone but Mr. Krabs but there are recipes circulating on the Internet what they think a Krabby Patty consists of. But there is no Spongebob episode yet that they reveal the secret formula.

Many fans claimed that the quality of the Spongebob shows a decline after season 3. This does not mean that it is a fact but each has their opinions and observations. It seems that the decline started when the creator of Spongebob, Stephen Hillenburg, left the show. The team that he left might not have the same humor as he has when writing the previous episodes. And those were the ones that the audience knew and loved.

Maybe the viewers noticed the change of comic and humor that is why they think that the show declined. And the style of the new writers exaggerated the traits of the characters that made the characters looked stupid. Whether new writers or not, Spongebob does still have fans all over the world.

It is very hard to choose my most favorite Spongebob episode as there are way too many funny episodes I have watched. But if I were to rank them, my most favorite episode would be “The Camping Episode.” It is when Spongebob, Patrick, and Squidward go camping together. Squidward joined the 2 as he was offended when Spongebob told him to have fun inside.

“The Campfire Song” is from this episode where the trio sang together; well, of course, Squidward poorly participated. He then played his clarinet and the two panicked as it will only attract sea bears. Spongebob told him what they must not do in a campfire but Squidward rejected them. In the end, Squidward was attacked by a Sea-rhino.
